Self evaluation

I was extremely undecided when I started this course about choosing the design pathway, but I throughly enjoyed enjoyed studying fashion media ad well throughout the entire learning process. I questioned my pathway in term 1. In the end, I decided to pursue design because I was fascinated by the thought of endless creative designs and I found myself passionate about materials.

I enjoyed having extra time to explore with three paths and the projects that involved three columns in the semester. Because I had already explored all the possible paths and selected the one that seemed right, this opportunity allowed me to select the precise path is meant for me,

One of the most important things I’ve learned during this course, is to continue to work you have started with the same passion without giving up. Because, if you didn’t liked something you did when you were a kid, you had the opportunity and the luxury of giving up on it immediately and throwing ourselves at someone else because in those days we were not taught how valuable and original even the smallest idea was. However, now each idea has its own potential and it is up to us to develop it and turn it into a successful project. We are now in the period of taking our own responsibilities and giving shape to them without leaning our backs on anyone else.

My term 3 project was completed exactly according to my plans. Before I started the project, I had prepared a separate plan map for each week, and since I followed it every week without fail, I was able to complete this project on time with a clean mind without stress and anxiety. Even though I continued the project with a very planned plan, I realised that fashion design is really spontaneous. You never know when your final ideas will come, and the changes made at the last moment actually happen very spontaneously as the project develops. Therefore, it is necessary to always be able to keep up with this alignment. I learned how to observe during this project to always question the ideas to develop them even more. Throughout my undergraduate corse, I will undoubtedly continue to pursue my passion and look forward to gaining professional abilities.

If I have a second chance to do the project again, I would want to further improve the materials I used. Because, although its application was a ready made process, it was very limiting to wit for it to be established and insist on the material without getting a good result when the proportions could not be achieved even a little, so a limited amount of material was found. I’d like to squeeze myself a little harder about the likely material and see what I can come up with. Because, there is always the best of the best. Everything can be improved and there is no end to creativity so I believe very much through experience that I can always do my best. Therefore, rather than the final view of the project, the skills I gained in that process are more valuable to me so that I can do better next time with my experiences.

Overall, I am satisfied with my term 3 portfolio. I like my concept and research pages the most. Since the concept I have chosen is abstract, I wanted to make my research pages as abstract as possible, also in sync with each other, and I think I succeeded. Maybe I could improve myself a little more about adding the satellites, but lets just say that as much. Also, the location is abstract, but I tried to make it concrete by giving shape to the energy shield of space as well as spiral pattens. Finally, I’m proud of the way I’ve come this year, and I can easily see that my way of thinking and talent for design have grown out of it. At least I’m not afraid to take risks anymore.
