Research proposal
I am interested in jewelleries in fashion and moving onto BA Fashion Jewellery course at London College of Fashion. I am studying to become an independent designer which is not based on any limitations such as gender or age. I would show my uniqueness in material future for fashion by representing 6 pieces final line-up.
My intention in this industry to give a characteristic look to the jewellery and take it to the next level rather than being basic essential that everyone have in their closet.
I am aiming my target market to people who can wear their jewelleries strongly in any gender or age, but at a slightly higher price point with a limited edition collection because the materials are purely coming from the space such as the stones.
Therefore, it’s gonna be exclusive and limited. My portfolio for term 3 will reflect this.
My idea for this term 3 project with the prompt ” location, past and present” is the concept of using Universe as the location of choice. The reason behind of it is, the idea of infinity is contains everything. Such as; all of space, and all the matter and energy that space contains. It even includes time itself. While the location have chosen should have a historical story, why not choose a time period covering the past, the future and the present also, we are all coming from it and living in it. Therefore, Universe is everybody’s home. The mind-blowing concept and the idea of infinity is really inspired me to get into details of shapes and colours of the universe. The Bing Bang was the moment 13.8 billion years ago when the universe began as a tiny, dense, fireball that exploded. Most astronomers use the Bing Bang theory to explain how the universe began. On top of that, I moved my concept of universe to satellite as well because I wanted my location to be more specific and satellite is the only connection between humanity and space.
To start with, in the research I will search existing photos of the universe and look at related essays, websites, articles, and videos that NASA released because it is the best source of the concept of universe. Since the size of space cannot be calculated and we do not have enough knowledge to explore it all, there are many different theories about it, and this makes this concept even more interesting and unbelievable. I’ll focus on, how the Universe began and expanding, how it works, the shapes of it, the colours that we could see with naked eye and the stars and moreover everything about Universe. There is no end of it and it keeps expanding which is really interesting in every case. We are floating in universe in the same direction over and over but there is no reassurance so we exactly don’t know where are we living and trusting it unconditionally. I really love this idea and I can see myself creating and expanding my ideas like how Universe keeps expanding naturally.
